In 1993 we brought home our
first miniatures. Among them were our first foal. Over
the years there have been a number of foals on the farm.
This is the early history of Cloverdale Miniatures, from our
first foal to our 2000 foals :o)

Our first foal, Cassie stole our hearts on sight!
This was our first look at her when she was a few days old.
We didn't buy her until later that year, but from that first meeting
on it was inevitable that she would be coming home with us :o)

The following year we decided to buy a jennet for breeding.
We went looking for a mature, already bred, spotted jenny.
We found and bought one (Moureen), but in the process fell in love
once again with this little girl named Angelique. |

In the spring of 1995, Moureen gave birth to the first foal born on the farm.
We named him Sampson because we were amazed at how strong he was even as a newborn.
He has since moved on to a new home in Lebanon, N.Y. |
|
The following summer, Moureen gave us another jack foal.
His light red coat inspired the name Macintosh :o)
He has grown up to be one of our breeding jacks.
In 1999 he became the proud papa of both Cameo and Duffy!!!!!

On May 6, 1997 Cassie gave us our first mini horse foal to be born here, Belle Star !!!
It was a difficult birth and we had to bottle feed her at first, but Cassie and Belle came thru it all fine.
Our tiniest foal, Belle will always be our favorite and enjoys being the only mini with house visit privileges!

Three days later Shadow was born. More than twice Belle's size at birth.
They became playmates and gave us hours of enjoyment watching them romp.
Shadow is now friends with a horse in Hinsdale, MA.
Her mother, Rosie, now lives at Log Cabin Farm in Rhode Island with her friend Sal :o) |

In 1998, Moureen and Angelique (her first) both gave us little jack foals named Mickey and Angelo (pun intended).
Our first pair of donkey foals, they were a joy to watch at play.
Mickey now lives at Trotwood Acres in Lanesborough with two Mini Horses.
Angelo also lives in Lanesborough with a Mini Horse for a companion. |

On the 12th of April, 2000 Moureen gave us yet another beautiful jack foal.
